Here is what you need to know before your Ipanema experience.
Waxing can feel uncomfortable, especially during your first appointment, but the sensation is usually brief. Sayonara works carefully and efficiently, explains what to expect, and respects your comfort throughout the service.
Your hair should be approximately ¼ inch long, usually about two to three weeks of growth. The wax needs enough hair to grip properly. If you are unsure, contact us before trimming or shaving.
Arrive with clean skin and avoid applying oils, lotions, or heavy products to the area being waxed. Avoid aggressive exfoliation and products that may increase skin sensitivity before your appointment.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing, especially for Brazilian, bikini, leg, or underarm services.
Yes, you can usually receive a Brazilian or bikini wax during your period. Your skin may feel more sensitive, and you will need to wear a fresh tampon or menstrual cup during the appointment.
If you have any concerns, contact us before your visit.
Sayonara does not wax in the first trimester for your safety. Please let Sayonara know that you are pregnant before your service. If you have medical concerns, complications, or restrictions, speak with your healthcare provider before booking.
Every woman’s hair-growth cycle is different. Many clients enjoy their results for several weeks and return every four to six weeks to maintain a consistent waxing routine.
For the first 24 to 48 hours, avoid:
Hot baths, saunas, and excessive heat
Intense exercise and heavy sweating
Pools and hot tubs
Tight clothing and friction
Harsh exfoliants or fragranced products
Intimate contact after a Brazilian or bikini wax
Follow the personalized aftercare guidance provided during your appointment.
A bikini-line wax removes the hair visible outside a typical underwear or swimsuit line.
A Brazilian wax removes substantially more hair from the intimate area. You can discuss how much you would like removed before the service begins so you feel comfortable with the result.
